Women in Aquaculture Survey

We meet a disproportionately large amount of women running aquaponics projects in the UK. What’s that you say? Yes we do! Women run tings in Aquaponics. To coincide with International Women’s Day (8 March), Seafish, the UK industry authority on seafood, and IntraFish Media, have announced they are partnering to launch a survey of the challenges and opportunities facing women in the seafood industry.
The survey aims to gather opinions and insight to help craft a roadmap for how to attract more women into the seafood industry.

It is open to any women working at any level in the seafood, commercial fishing, aquaculture and seafood processing industries, as well as seafood purchasing executives at retail and foodservice.

IntraFish launched its groundbreaking “Women in Seafood” series in 2015, offering the most comprehensive overview of key obstacles facing women in the seafood workforce, and providing insight into the industry’s most successful women.

Seafish hopes to use the survey to collect data it can use to help attract more women into the UK seafood sector, and will seek out respondents from across the country.
