Welcome to our third podcast from BAQUA! In this episode, first we announce the 2017 Convention!!! Then our interviews – we spend some time with Ande Gregson of Green Lab then it’s over to Belgium – for a lovely human conversation with Dieter Ansiew of Inagro. The interview with Dieter was recorded as part of our Summer 2017 tour of Aquaponic Facilities.
Green Lab – based in Bermondsey in London, Green Lab is an innovation and incubation space focussed on agri-tech. Green Lab take the best from permaculture thinking, from small scale production, from experimentation, and from science and technology and design productive food systems that make the world a better place.
Their values are around experimentation and play; challenging what people do today; human-scale systems and they believe that we can design away our problems.
Green Lab have built a workspace that encourages creativity and collaboration and are filling it with food entrepreneurs and thinkers that want to build better systems. Think insects, algae, hydroponics, aquaculture and fungi.
In this podcast episode Ande Gregson mentions a book – the Humanure Handbook – you can get that here
Inagro – Inagro is the knowledge partner of agricultural and horticultural businesses in the areas of innovation and sustainability. The INAPRO aquaponics system in Belgium is based on an already existing aquaculture and horticulture system that were connected in 2015. This system has been exploited to run tests concerning water and nutrients management and usage and it has been producing pike perch (Sander lucioperca) and tomatoes.
